Service Delivery
The service delivery component comprises of the following:
Reproductive Health Services Center-A type (RHSC-A) &NSV
- The Reproductive Health Services Centers (RHSC-A) are hospital based service delivery units staffed by the Population Welfare Department.
- RHSC-A Type centers provide the following services.
- Promotion of Healthy timing and spacing of pregnancy (HTSP) for at least 3 years
- Full range of services identified in the National RH services Package comprising comprehensive Family Planning (FP) Services including Contraceptive Surgery (CS)
- Facilities for females and males as out-door procedure with long-term client follow-up.
- Mother and Child Health (MCH) care.
- Treatment of general ailments.
- Prevention and management of RTIs/STDs and HIV/AIDS.
- Counseling and referral for adolescent/youth.
- Management of RH problems of elderly women.
- Referral for men’s problems.
- Client’s education for early detection of cancer in breast and uterus, and couple counseling and referral for treatment of infertility.
Mobile Service Units (MSUs)
- At present there are 30 MSUs in the Province. Provides free of cost family planning services (except contraceptive surgery), Mother & Child Health services and of General ailment, conduct 10 to 12 extension camps month, carry out 2 monitoring visits of FWCs each month, refer clients of surgery cases to reproductive health services centers and also provide services in static centers on non camp days. Promotion of Healthy timing and spacing of pregnancy (HTSP) for at least 3 years.
Family Welfare Centers (FWCs)
- The Family Welfare Center is core unit and corner stone of the main service delivery networks of the Program housed in rented premises in urban and rural areas.
- The services provided through the static facility and by arranging satellite clinics among dispersed population. The scope of work of the FWC includes provision of the following functions.
- Promotion of Healthy timing and spacing of pregnancy (HTSP) for at least 3 years.
- Family Planning, counseling, services and follow-up for FP methods except implants and contraceptive surgery.
- MCH services through static as well as through satellite clinics.
- Infant health care including nutritional advice, growth monitoring and treatment of common ailments.
- Regular health education sessions on topics of the community to create awareness on small family norms, female literacy, human rights and gender equity.
- Orientation sessions for elected female counselors on topics such as family planning, population and development gender equity and status of women in Islam.
- Availability of contraceptives, medicines and other supplies and maintaining equipment in good working condition.
- Referrals of hard core cases of family planning, infertility, HIV/AIDs and those seeking contraceptive surgery/implants to appropriate facility.
Social Mobilizers Male (SMM)
- SMMs carry out Registration of eligible couples through male members of community, provide assistance in conducting satellite camps, increase general awareness, coordinate at gross root level with different stake holders, influential’s, religious leaders/pesh imams, popularize to promote birth spacing for improved mother & child health and small family concept, corner meetings with male segment of society.
Family Health Homes (FHH)
- Family Health Homes provide the following Family Planning and Reproductive Health services to the clients. Family Planning, Maternal & Child Health, Treatment of Minor Ailment & Midwifery Services.
